This study compares the efficacy of combined transcervical resection of the endometrium and levonorgestrel-containing intrauterine system (LNG-IUS) versus LNG-IUS alone in the treatment of adenomyosis and demonstrates that the combined treatment is superior to LNG-IUS alone in achieving amenorrhea but not necessarily the reduction of dysmenorrhea.
